Das Buch ~ sounds interesting but one question is this personal or academic? May I make a suggestion to toss in a good battle book of war during the snow/cold months? Last year I read Stalingrad in my back yard (with a fire pit) and it cold as heck outside. I really "felt" the battle so to speak with the cold all around me. I read Antony Beevor's version of Stalingrad. This winter I will either go to the Battle of the Bulge or a visit the Chosin Reservoir where the Marines pulled out of during a long winter battle that was hard fought.

Have fun!

Harry Potter is of course my favorite, but "The Road" was absolutly inspirational. It was amazing. "Duma Key" is brilliantly written. King really delivered this time. The "Twilight Saga" was, although overrated, pretty good. Christopher Paolini, though not quite as good as J.K. Rowling, is developing his skills quite nicely. There is a huge difference between "Eragon" and "Brisingr". I loved the series.

What are you thoughts on these books if you have read them? Which is your favorite? Are you planning on reading a set amount of books this year?
Michelle, I know what you mean. I almost didn't finish all of these, because 2008 was ending of junior year/beginning of senior year in high school. I'm going to college this year, but I believe I'll have a little more time with not having to go 5 days a week for 8 hours a day. :S Graduation in May! Woot!
Nohj, I agree. Twilight was badly written, but it still proved to be a decent story.

Tale of Two Cities was....interesting. LoL. It's the only Dicken's book I've read. It kept me interested, but it isn't something I'd like to ever read again. Madame Defarge is crazy/awesome.

I didn't set an amount in 2008. I just ended up reading whatever I picked up. I just want to try and read more than 45 in 2009. So far, I have the "Dark Tower Series", "The Appeal", "The Hobbit", "Lord of the Rings" (All three), and "Tommyknockers" setting on my shelf to be read this year. Almost finished with "The Hobbit" (Tolkein is great, but goes a little overboard with the description/rambaling.) Can't wait to read more Stephen King. The first two books I read of his were amazing.
