Lizzie asks…
I have alway loved the song by U2 "New Years Day" what is the song about?
To me it is about civil rights but I may be wrong, does anyone know the answer to this song? And why is Bono becoming so friendly with George W. Bush? Geoerge W. Bush is Satan and is against everything this song stands for me!

The lyric had its origins in a love song from Bono to his wife but then was reshaped and inspired by the Polish Solidarity movement.
William asks…
Which style of music specifically is the song "New Years Day" by U2? & how unique it was from previous music?
Why they chose Sweden and this war footage (btw, which war footage is that too if know?)

what is this song about really? AND HOW POPULAR IN WHICH YEARS AND WHERE? WHAT PEOPLE THOUGHT OF IT FIRST TIME AND WHY? HOW DIFFERENT THAN BEFORE?
which year this came out and how you would describe the style? how similar or different to other songs at same time by U2 and later? how unique at time to other music popular at that time? how popular in Britain and elsewhere? and what it is about?
anything can explain appreciated.

I suppose you could call it " Post Punk " . Really it's just a rock based pop song , I've never worked out what it's about , it's pretty ambiguous .

Mandy asks…
If you were a DJ spinning at a club on NYE what song would you play at midnight?
The club is in an urban city, mix ethnicities, age 21 - 35.
1999 is burnt, Celebration (Kool n Gang) is irrelevant
And anything people can't dance to would suck like the New Year song by U2. I like it but not danceable.
