I have a J/Witness friend, Is it ok to leave a public Myspace/Internet Bday/Age Quote to acknowledge her age?
She will be 26 and we have been friends for years. Now that she has children and has been married for a while now, they are further practicing their JW beliefs. I know they dont "celebrate" and I actually think thats very clever of their beliefs, but I was wondering if it would be ok to put a few "age quotes" acknowledging her new age change.
She has a Myspace Profile and I wanted to leave her a comment just saying something like:

SO please I would just like to know how to say "Happy Birthday" in some way, I just dont know whats appropriate or not.
And also I do understand "why" they dont celebrate the birthdays (from the what it says about them in the bible) Thanks everyone!!

I was about to write about how disclosing a woman's age is almost always a breech of etiquette. Then I read your question in full.
The age quotes would be what I would consider "pushing the line" of etiquette, regardless of her religion. A birthday wish, unless it's for your closest and most trusted friend, should be just that-- "happy birthday, hope you have a good one".
The need to acknowledge her birthday by letting her know you are thinking of her on this day is more than appropriate, regardless of religion. In being sensitive to her religion though, you may wish to leave specific mention of her birthday out and instead send a note with your best wishes, and that you're thinking of her.
She will likely "get the hint" and her religious family & community will have nothing to be offended at.
