Questions About Jenny Mccarthy Autism Vaccines

Nancy asks…

What do you think of children immunizations?

Do you agree with the Vaccines they want to give our children? Do you have your children vaccinated? Here is a couple great links you should check out and then think about your opinion on Immunizations.

Personally I think vaccinations are important but I now question how safe they really are. After having a child diagnosed with Autism and becoming informed that small amounts of mercury that are in some vaccinations, I would probably ask the physicians what form they are using before choosing to proceed. Heavy metals such as mercury are linked to a whole host of conditions, including an increase in Autism. So word of warning to any parent doing vaccinations, check what's in the vaccinations before allowing it to be given. You don't want your child having to deal with a life time of issues all because you thought you were protecting them from getting sick.

I'm glad for the families who have not been affected. But I'm saddened by not having the information provided to us so we could make an informed decision. I too probably would have chosen to vaccinate anyway but I would have made sure that the vaccination did not contain deadly ingredients and if there was no way of getting around it would have chosen to forgo it all together. It's a misconception that you have to have vaccinations. You don't. As the first video points out. It's definately worth watching. Far too long have the general public believed that the medical industry with their "do no harm" moto is right. Research has proven otherwise. People need to stop relying on someones word of mouth and research topics before making decision. We as a society have gotten too lazy and trusting and want others to choose for us what's right and what's wrong. In this case our trust is misplaced. This "do no harm" attitude is doing harm and can be seen in the increased number of children being affected. Choose to ignore these factors and the next one in your family might also be one of the unlucky ones.

William asks…

why do people still believe that there is a link between vaccines and autism?

The original paper suggesting this link had only a dozen subjects, and those were cherry-picked. The author, Andrew Wakefield, was drummed out of the academy because it was discovered that a group of lawyers paid him to come up with this finding in order to get settlements for their clients. The conclusions of the paper were flawed, refuted by a mountain of evidence suggesting NO link between vaccines and autism, and ultimately the paper was retracted as a consequence. And yet you still hear parents saying - frequently! - oh, I'd never get my kids vaccinated. Or, oh! I would never give them so many shots at once. I realize it caused a scare, but this was the only paper suggesting a link and it's been retracted, and the author disgraced for unethical scientific conduct. Vaccines save lives. It's not a conspiracy by the pharmaceutical industry to make money. Is it Jenny McCarthy? A fear of needles? Why do so many parents still refuse to vaccinate their kids, citing the "risks"?
the primary risks associated with vaccination are low/slight fever, fussiness, and irritation at the injection site. There are extremely rare conditions that occasionally crop up, yes. But we're specifically talking about the autism/vaccine link, not these other rare complications.

admin answers:

Yes, the Wakefield study was the only peer-reviewed publication to ever to suggest a link between autism and vaccines. It has come to light that his paper is likely completely fraudulent. It's contents do not match the patient charts.

The paper was actually retracted due to ethics violations on how Wakefield collected the samples, the same reason he was struck off. The fraud had nothing to do with it since it came much later than the start of the proceedings.

In contrast there are numerous studies showing no link. In fact, a rather recent paper showed that autism was associated with several genes involved in cell migration. This makes perfect sense since cell migration is how neurons move to form neural networks during development. Meanwhile there is no plausible mechanism for vaccines to cause autism.

Why does anyone still believe vaccines cause autism? A large scale misinformation campaign from antivaxxers designed to scare parents. They responded to your question with their usual lies.

For example, VAERS reports are raw reports. They are uninvestigated. There was once a claim that a vaccine turned someone into the incredible hulk. Clearly not a reliable source for data.

Daniel asks…

Why do parents continue to blame vaccines for autism?

This is very dangerous and I read that stats show many children with autism have not been vaccinated. So why do parents continue this outrage? Is it hard to admit genetics, or behavior, food, environment while the baby was in utero to blame? Is is because its just simply easier to state that vaccinations are to blame? What if a parent refuses to vaccinate their child because of these statements, and their child dies of measles, etc? Then what? Could they sue Jenny McCarthy?
Plus, there isn't any mercury in vaccinations. There is still a trace of in in the influenza vaccination. In addition-children begin showing signs of autism between 12-24 months-whether or not they have been vaccinated. Because of the timing, people are quick to state that vaccinations are the cause of autism. Also, children are getting diagnosed much more often than ever. Sadly, a child who had autism in the past might have been known as a "problem child" -to state it nicely. I don't care if parents chose not to vaccinate their child; however, if the child does become extremely ill or even dies from a disease which could have been prevented by being vaccinated, I believe that is boderline child abuse.

admin answers:

I think many parents jumped the bandwagon saying vaccines caused autism, a simple thing to put the blame on, as a parent who would not want to know what caused this in their child, I would, but I don't blame vaccines, never even considered it, I think for many it was the easiest/most convienant thing to blame it on. I have 3 sons, youngest with autism, all 3 off them have received all of their vaccinations, but yet the 2 oldest don't have autism. You never heard too much about it until Jenny McCarthy opened her big mouth. If it did cause autism then why in the federal courts (US) did they make an official ruling that vaccinations do not cause autism, to me they could not have made that ruling if there was any reasonable doubt that it did. Vaccinations were created to prevent an epidemic of diseases, if people continue not to vaccinate their children, it's just a matter of time before these diseases become an epidemic again. I think most of these parents who choose not to vaccinate will indeed vaccinate their child from a disease if their child is in immediate danger of catching that disease especially taking into consideration what these diseases can do to their child which is much worse than having autism. I'm going to go off your question here a bit (sorry) because I have a huge problem with Jenny McCarthy. Personally I think Jenny McCarthy is a joke, what type of medical/science degree does she have - none & autism speaks, the organization she is a spokesperson for, you'll find many on the spectrum are offended by this organization, that they do not truly represent those who have autism. She states that her son has "recovered" from autism, something else very misleading. You cannot heal, cure, recover, or reverse autism in anyone. She uses the gfcf diet, de-toxing and supplements for her son which is simply treatments and nothing more, if her son was "recovered" from autism, why would she need to continue to use these forms of treatments, why would you continue to treat someone for something if they no longer have it, that makes no sense and if it was true, then why hasn't it cured all people from autism, I say cured because recovered is a synonym for cured & healed. That's almost like saying someone with diabetes who takes insulin and changes their diet to control their blood sugar level no longer has diabetes. Those treatments make the characteristics/behaviors of autism less noticeable in some cases, if she stopped these treatments the autism is still there and the characteristics/behavior would again become more profound. Another question very similiar to yours, a lady stated that her daughter was recovered from autism, but yet she knows when her daughter changes her diet and does not follow protocols because she regresses, why does she regress, because the autism is still there, if she was recovered then she would have nothing to regress from. Not every treatment works the same in those with autism, each treatment has to be done on a trial basis to see what works best for that individual and no matter what that treatment is and how much it helps the individual, the autism is and always will still be there.

Ken asks…

Do you believe the vaccinations cause autism?

This is just one of many links to pages that show that there is not supposed to be a link between MMR vaccine and autism.

http://www.nichd.nih.gov/publications/pubs/autism/mmr/sub3.cfm

I really dont think they do, although I do think that in some rare cases the child might have a disorder that makes it harder for him to process heavymetals and therefore might predispose him to develop some bad reactions to not only vaccines but to everything ( including food) that contains heavymetals. ( Like Jenny McCarthys kid )
I wanted to know if you think that vaccines really cause autism or not?
And I also want to say that my heart goes out to all the parents with kids with any disorder no matter how they developed it.
I just think that not vaccinating kids is the right answer here because that just leads into a whole different problems like massive outbreaks of measels for example... ( like there was a couple of years ago)
Mrs.Ferrari, I do agree that some of the ingredients in vaccines are gross, but they do work. The reason that some people still get sick is because everyone is not vaccinated. There are diseases that have been wiped out because of vaccines ( like polio I think ) but if unvaccinated person travels to a place where they still have cases he might get sick, bring the virus back here and get other people sick. Thats why I think its important that everyone gets vaccinated. I wouldnt give cardasil for my daughter either though, its too new and the side effects have not been studied enough. I've heard kids have paralyzed from it. Dont know if its true though havent research it yet ( she is only 18 mos) but I will at some point

admin answers:

No, i do not. The reason i think it is "linked" to autism is because they get shots at a year of age and that is when autism becomes more prominent.

Treasure made a great point! Every one is looking for excuses as to why this happened or that happened. Nothing can just happen anymore without there being a cause or someone or something to blame.
