If you don't want to pay the fine then take proper care of your books./ You will not need your middle school diploma but the school has other ways to force you to pay what you owe./

Maria asks…

What is the difference between postgraduate diploma and a diploma?

I am going to graduate with a diploma in business and i wish to advance to more than a diploma. Most probably in new zealand.
But im confused with the differences between:
postgraduate diploma
graduate diploma
bachelors degree
undergraduate
and maybe more you could explain to me?

Thank you

admin answers:

Jam is correct on all counts - however, an associates degree is also an undergraduate degree, and is likely what is being referred to as undergraduate.

Typically, an associates or undergraduate degree is a two-year college program. A bachelors degree (also known as a bachelaureate degree) is usually a four-year program, but there are some five year programs, such as education degrees requiring four years of studies and one additional year or practicum or student teaching. A graduate diploma or masters program is one or more years of higher level studies. This would include juris doctor degrees (law), a med school program up to and including residency, seminary (religious), or other specialty schools providing a graduate degree that has a bachelors degree pre-requisite.

I hope that helps.

Richard asks…

What is a diploma worth with the Open University?

Im wanting to do a diploma with the OU so i can get into a Uni to do a degree.
It doesnt say what type of diploma it is though, it only says 'Geosciences Diploma' so im unsure
as to what it is actually worth.

Is it worth GCSE's or A Levels and if so how many?

admin answers:

It's a level 4 qualification, higher than A-levels.

Using the Open University's point system...

60 points = Course Certificate
120 points = Diploma
240 points = Foundation Degree
300 points = Degree
360 points = Degree (with honours)
