the biggest event Decatur Book Festival 2009

One of the biggest event for the book lover is Decatur Book Festival.
The place where many famous thriller writers gather and show their latest books.
poeple have chance to chat with them and sharing ideas about everything.
Come and visit Decatur Book Festival.

This year’s Decatur Book Festival, held Sept. 4-6, features such marquee names as the ingenious thriller writer Lee Child, Southern memoirist Rick Bragg, singer/songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter, popular young adult author Kate DiCamillo and author/publisher Sir Harold Evans, who’ll give the event’s keynote address (Fri., Sept. 4, 8 p.m.). While visitors may enjoy going out to see an acclaimed author, they’ll probably get more out of hearing a poet or spoken word artist. Poets’ command of lyricism nearly always delights the ear, even if their muse doesn’t necessarily fill their bank accounts.

Pleae also visit the Atlanta Art Institute’s gallery’s opening of book illustration by local children’s book illustrators (art on the walls and the books on tables to compare). Nice to see everyone getting into the spirit!
Most kids from Decatur schools had a chance to come on the Square today to listen to an author. Loren Long, Jarrett Krosoczka, Kate DiCamillo, Michael Wexler, John Hulme, and others were on hand either downtown or at the schools. It was a great opportunity for the kids to hear real live authors and ask questions.
